LETTER FROM THE CAMP COORDINATOR:

We are so excited about this year's "Under the Lights" MHS Flag Football Camp next week Monday, June 23rd-Thursday, June 26th.  The Players and Coaches have been preparing and are eagerly awaiting getting to know your girls!  Here's what to expect:

  • 4 FUN-FILLED NIGHTS of interacting with and learning from the state's best players and coaches, who are excited to share their passion and love for the game, which is the fastest growing girls sports in the nation!

  • Camp will begin promptly at 6:00p daily so be sure to arrive in time to check in and be on the field by 6:00p.  We will have Booster Club Members available for check in no earlier than 5:30p at the front entrance of the Stadium.

  • Camp will last until 8:00p.  It is unusual for us to end early, but if you need to pick up your daughter, we can excuse her off the field only with a parent or guardian.  Campers need to be picked up promptly at the end of camp as the lights in the stadium will go off at 8:30p sharp.

  • Parents are welcome to watch from the stands every day, but may not enter the field level.

    • Thursday is probably the best day to come observe, as the girls will be well-versed in the activities and you'll get to see all they have learned.

    • Those that are interested in Feeder Flag Football (for 6th-8th graders) can stay after for a meeting at 8:00p Thursday Night with Coach Nixon (MHS Flag Football Head Coach).

  • What to Wear & Bring...

    • Bring an insulated bottle filled with water (Water please, not juice or sugary drinks...it attracts bees and ants)

      • Girls are encouraged to keep their water bottles with them and drink frequently.  We will have water available for refills

    • Girls should wear athletic clothing and cleats (sneakers are also OK!).

    • We HIGHLY recommend wearing mouthguards.  They are available on Amazon at Dicks for $7-15

    • No Jewelry or long nails please

    • We recommend hair up or tied back...it's HOT

    • Wear sunscreen/bug repellent

    • As part of camp, we're asking that girls participate in daily "themes"...

      • Monday - Team Spirit Day (Wear School, College, or Pro Team Attire)

      • Tuesday - Pig-tails / Crazy Hair Day

      • Wednesday - Neon Day

      • Thursday - Camp Tee / Milton Spirit

  • Game Plan

    • Coaches and senior players have planned a variety of activities that will help explain the fundamentals of flag in an entertaining and collaborative way!

    • Campers will be divided up into appropriate age groups and/or levels of experience where applicable.

    • We will have a snack available at the end of each night

  • Photos

    • Next week, we'll be taking photos at camp of the drills, girls posing together with camp leaders, participating, etc......

    • We love posting these pics to Milton Flag Football's social media accounts - to showcase the awesome things we're doing to celebrate all things flag.  Please know this is ALL in the spirit of fun and supporting the growth of flag football in our communities!  You can check out earlier posts on Facebook/Instagram

  • Rain Back-up Plans

    • We will send an email prior to camp if the weather looks like rain that night.  (FYI - We play in the rain, just not when there's lightning)

    • IF we need to go into the gym/cafeteria b/c of lightning, they'll need sneakers (cleats can not be worn in the gym) - so it's a good idea for them to have a change of clothes, backup shoes and a towel in a drawstring bag or backpack each day.

  • Spiritwear

    • We will be giving out Camp Tees on Day 1 and the Campers will need to wear them on Thursday.  If additional Milton Eagles Flag Football gear is desired, please visit our online spiritwear store which closes at the end of next week! www.mhsflagfootball.com

Should you have any questions beforehand, feel free to email us.  Also, please know that several Booster Club members, players and coaches will be on-site to help.

We're all looking forward to an awesome camp experience!
